It has also been seen that people suffering from diabetes and malnutrition could also suffer from halitosis. For most of us, these ingredients could be present in our daily food. Water is the remedy for most of the disorders in the world. Either it is a dehydration problem or any other skin problem. Drinking water not only hydrates our body but also helps in refreshing our breath. Mouth rinsing helps in taking out the bacteria out of our mouth and keeps our mouth fresh and clean. Increase your water intake daily to 2-3 liters a day, this will keep halitosis at bay

Smoking can not only be harmful to the lungs but also for oral hygiene. Smoking creates tar inside the lungs while degrading the dental health. It is advised to quit smoking and live a healthy life. Smoking not just causes mouth odor it can lead to worse situations such as lung cancer and bronchitis. Keep yourself and your loved ones from smoking as it not only harms the smoker but also the people around them.

Natural mouth fresheners such as fennels, cloves and aniseeds also keep mouth odor at bay as they contain antiseptic properties that kill the germs and bacteria inside our mouth. Chewing basil leaves or mint leaves is also advisable as the green pigment causing chlorophyll can reduce the bad breath to a greater extent. Alcohol-free mouth fresheners can also help in mouth odor removal.

In many cases, Dental hygiene is the primary reason for bad breath.  Brush your teeth and tongue soon after the meal. This prevents the food from getting stuck between the teeth and gums. Change your toothbrush once every two months. The mouth may smell even after brushing of teeth if the tongue is not cleaned properly. Hence, remember to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner or a spoon to avoid mouth odor.

Fruits also play a vital role in reducing halitosis. Fruits containing Citric acids such as Lemons, Oranges and grapes increase the production of saliva in the mouth. Saliva is a great natural bad breath removal agent.
